Once again we have teamed up with Modist Brewing Co. to dream up & execute an out-of-the-box gem of an ale. Taking a traditional Barleywine recipe and turning on its head, we have crafted a lovely amalgam of elements into this iteration of our ever-evolving collaboration series. Raspberry notes play with toasted coconut & lactose in a myriad melding of flavors & aromas. All of these – together with a Norwegian Kveik yeast strain, that kicks off moderate tropical & citrus notes – layered on top of a simple Barleywine-style base lets everything shine through individually, while not losing itself to its constituent parts. Big, bold, fruit-forward, and ever-so-slightly warming… this beast of an ale drinks smooth, belying its boozy strength.
